best monitor for gaming

PC monitors do not have built in TV tuners. They are designed to be connected to a console or computer. Get anything from asus or benq in terms of gaming since they are reliable when it comes to having low input lag results.

If you play on a console, just get any conventional 60Hz display since they do not output anything past 60fps. But if you PC game I recommend getting a g-sync monitor, or if you have a lower budget, just go with a non g-sync 144hz monitor.

Yes but "g-sync" is only for monitors connected to Nvidia graphics cards.

Personally I'd rather have AMD's mantle and not waste $150 extra for g-sync on an overpriced monitor.

There aren't many Monitors with a built in TV tuners. The only company I know of that makes them is Samsung.

This monitor actually has pretty good specs.

As long as you have a TV tuner card in your PC you can use any monitor as a TV.

You can also use an HDTV (preferably 1080p w/a high refresh rate and low response time) as a monitor as long as it has the right inputs for your PC's Video and sound (if needed).

HDMI transports both Video and sound. DVI and VGA transport only Video. Some TV's have a separate input for sound if your using DVI or VGA. Then you can game and watch TV on the same screen without the need to buy a TV tuner card for your PC.

As far as monitor brands go, I agree with "tmacg55" Asus or benq are also my top two choices (in that order).
