For both you will have to spend a lot of cash, the question is can you spend that much, since you are with an i5 and a 1070? How much is your budget?

For your requirements, best choice would most likely be ASUS ROG PG279Q, however it's out of your budget. So if the monitor is fast (144hz) you won't have great picture. You can skip 144hz if you don't play FPS and you don't really need that much response. So I would say you should consider Acer G257HU, 1440p 60hz but overall good enough.

The 1070 pumps out some serious framerates in 1080p but takes somewhat of a knock compared to a GTX 1080 at higher resolution. I think with a GTX1070 you should definitely look at 144Hz monitors which will provide much better overall smoothness.

The best pairing for the 1070 would be any 1080p 144Hz Gaming monitor. Benq makes some good ones and AOC is also good.

The important thing is the 144Hz In my opinion otherwise you would be wasting many frames that are not getting displayed with a 1070.
