Best Monitoring and Protection Software?

So i recently got a new mobo and some extra ram, etc. and had to reformat my pc of course. i'm just wondering what hardware monitoring software you guys use, or what youd recommend and what security software (free antivirus and spyware protection) you think is best, so i can install it for myself. thanks much guys

I am a Norton fan - I use 360, it does it all - I have been with Norton for many years and I can count on this company to stay on top of all security issues - they are the Federal Express of the security business - others might debate as there are some pretty good security software by other companies.
