Hello, I have a Intel core 2 Quad and I am wanting to upgrade my motherboard to something that can hold more than 4gb RAM. What is the best (cheap) Motherboard for me ?

Solution
Here is a PC Part Picker List of motherboards I'd consider, but you'll have to check the CPU Support List of any of these that you might consider to make sure the Core2Quad you have is supported.

I would also note that these motherboards are ancient and likely in low supply (new) if available at all. You'll probably need to go used.

here is a list of motherboard that have been designed to run your Q6600, I would start looking at eBay for one.
good hunting. I run a Q9400 and had a q6600 on it before and I love my Asus - P5QL/EPU motherboard, handles 8GB DDR2-800 Mhz like a champ.
not expensive to find in good working condition. but isn't a board for overclocking if that is what you had in mind with your Q6600 .
if your looking for a motherboard to use and overlock that Q6600 on it, then I suggest searching Toms's on the topic and find the most commonly recommended motherboard for that Q6600, likely it will run you a 100$ bill though.
