Not that many Mobo with eSata. Anywhoo, eSata is going the way of firewire, not gonna argue about it, it just is. Plus Mobos' built-in eSata can't do multi-bay JBOD setups BTW, for that you must use a PCI eSata adapter. I speak from recent exeperience.
I too was enamored of eSata for a little bit, but practically and reality pushed me to USB3, doesn't look as sexy as eSata on paper, but real life, much easier, less hassle.
