Get this stable, durable and performance oriented motherboard that do not break your bank:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H97-D3H ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($88.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Total: $88.99
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available...
CPU & MB - The i7-4790 (non-k version) should be paired with an H97 motherboard (non overclocking setup). Look toward one of the boards in the link below. Since you aren't overclocking, look toward teh Xeon 1231 v3 instead of the 4790. You will get i7 performance from the Xeon with hyperthreading enabled.

MEM - 16GB is a lot. Consider 8GB for now with the option to add more later.
SSD - Fine and all, but the better values are with the Samsung 850 Evo or Crucial MX100 / BX100 / MX200
PSU - No! Nothing from Corsair that starts with C or Builder as the have cheap capacitors. Look toward XFX or Seasonic. You get what you pay for in this space so don't cheap out!

If at all any changes has to be made in above part list, I would suggest these changes:

- MSI R9 390 instead of the Gigabyte GTX 970.
- Antec High Current Gamer 620W instead of Corsair CX600.
- Samsung 850 EVO 250GB instead of Kingston 240GB.

I suggest you get the MSI R9 390 8GB Gaming instead of GTX 970, as its price & performance are almost the same or even better, has extra 4GB VRAM, which would be really handy in modern games like the GTA V, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Assassin's Creed: Unity, Far Cry 4 etc that appreciate more VRAM.

The R9 390 requires a quality 600W PSU that can deliver 29Amps or more on its +12V rail. The Corsair CX600 is a decent PSU, but it comes with cheap capacitors (not Japanese). So its longevity is questionable. Hence added the Antec HCG 620W, a quality PSU that can deliver 48Amps on its +12V rail, which is more than enough to power this rig.

Why Gigabyte Motherboard and MSI Graphics Cards?

Because they make stable, durable and performance oriented products with lowest RMAs. See the images below:

Other parts are fine. Stick with them.

Update:

Get these parts and your setup would handle the photoshop, unreal engine 4, and unity with ease.

No need for overclock processor. The non-overclock i7 will do the job an awesome job with the default CPU cooler that comes with it. No need for third part cooling solution.

Cheers!
