Best motherboard for i7 6700k under 300$

I am upgrading my pc and have 300 to spend on motherboard. Everything else is brought so I don't have to safe money on it to spend on something else. Any recommendations would be helpful

I don't recommend paying anywhere near $300 for a motherboard. That $150 Asus-A is a great board.

whats the board like when it comes to overclocking ? I have terrible(old) motherboard on my current i3770k and its impossible to overclock it. I am stuck on the 3.5ghz since the day i brought it.

if u want to do some serious ocing the hero might be worth it if u want the best of the best get the msi.

but to eb clear the z170a can easily got 4.6 ghz hero a bit more than that and the msi a bit mroe than that. so u want to pay a ton for that few extra mhz?

If it was you and you had to pick between the z170a and the hero what would you go for ?

z170a since theres ahrdly any difference in ocing , what the z170a is capable of.

is there much difference between the z170a and the z170 Pro ? Should I just stick with the z170a

As I am upgrading my CPU and MB I am left with upgrading the ram but I am not sure if I should go for the ddr3 or ddr4. I am also not sure for which speeds should I go for (in my head its the highest). Should I go for Vengeance or Dominator or are they not worth it.

only ddr4 works with a z170 motherboard, ram will speed up just a little bit with rendering times.
so jsut go for 2x 8gb 2400 ddr4 ram/

would they be any point in going 4x8gb or there isnt much use in having 32GB

theres hardly any difference between 8 and 16gb , theres zero difference between 16 and 32gb of ram.

total waste of money then. Would you recommend upgrade from i7 3770k to the i7 6700k or even higer? Sorry for all the questions. Thanks for thanking your time to help me out.

I went the Hero and wouldn't change it - great mobo (in sig), have better than a half dozen builds using the Z170-A which is a great mobo also - might also give consideration to their Z170 Pro Gaming, have built a number of those also
