Hello,

I'm planning on getting a new system and I'm thinking of getting 2 or 3 Samsung 950 PRO 512GB PCIe 3.0 M.2 NVMe SSD's and I want to put them in RAID 1 and I would also like to be able to add at least 1 SATA drive that I will use for extra storage.

I was looking at the following motherboards:
ASROck Z170 Exterme 7 (LGA 1151)
MSI Z170A XPOWER GAMING TITANIUM EDITION (LGA 1151)
MSI Z170A GAMING M7 (LGA 1151)
GIGABYTE G1 Gaming GA-Z170X-Gaming 7 (rev. 1.0) LGA 1151

I would like to ask what is the best motherboard to do that with ?

I want to use 2 or 3 PCIe-NVMe SSD's drives but I don't want to loose any speed on them I would like to run them all at the fastest speed possible.

THANKS FOR ANY HELP, I REALLY APPRECIATE IT.

Solution
The MSI Xpower Titanium has two of the correct m.2 ports and the the Arock has 3 but if you populate all three you lose all your sata ports... Not sure if either of them support m.2 raid yet but the chipset sure can if you read this article. Article .

So it looks like a two drive raid 1 is possible at least.
