Best motherboard video editing

I'm following videoguys recommended mobo Px79 Pro, but am also considering the Asus Sabertooth x79. Any thoughts on which may be a better pick?
 

Its more about the 6core CPU. U need to get that one to see really noticeable difference.

And at least 16GB of fast RAM and apps that support the 6 cores!

I don't see the point of the sabertooth. All that armor etc. sounds not useful at all, just get a good case with good airflow, good cooling and you will be done. The P9X79 pro is perfect enough IMHO.

Well, the Pro still has a couple things more than the Sabertooth, and a couple things less. One thing is that it supports memory up to 2400 (oc). It also has one more PCIe slot for triple SLI for example, important or not. I'd go with the Pro without doubt.

Thanks for the input...I'm considering the i7 3820 processor with the 2011 socket type just to future-proof myself if I want to bump up to the higher end i7 later. It's four core hyper-threaded for 8. For the extra $100 (mobo) I figured it would worth the newer socket type. I did have a guy at a local computer shop slam the Asus boards in general, recommending Gigabyte or MSI. The Px79 Pro was a Tom's hardware top pick. I won't be gaming at all, just video editing. Any thoughts? 3820? 'Preciate it!

If it's for pcie then i would like to go with pro
but 2 high end gpu's would be better than 3 cause of heat well it doesn't matter most of people use 2-way rather than 3-way or 4-way :)
 
Check this. Think about that, for encoding, it will save u ton of time. Mobo will not make any impact that u can see in the real life.

I would have rather low end mobo in the premium 2011 class, than nice mobo, but weaker CPU. I know it cost more, (about $200 difference in your case), but its more practical.

Get water cooling and OC to 4.6MHz or so and have an high end machine.

Yeah, of course that the 3930k will outperform the 3820.. but you can get a 3820 for $230 on micro center if you leave near one.. you also have the best price for the 3930k there, which is $500.. still it's $270 difference, even if you can get a $100 cheaper motherboard, you end up with $170 difference, and then it really depends on budget and not choice.

I myself have a 3820 for video editing (and games also) and I'm quite happy with it :)

A friend threw me a curve ball the other day by suggesting the AMD Bulldozer 8150 processor for it's 8 core processing, vs. the i7 3820. The Adobe Premiere Pro will utilize those cores and be a better solution for video editing. Any thoughts.

 
I have the i7-3930K, Sabertooth X79, and 32GB of CMZ16GX3M4X1600C9G. The advantages to the Sabertooth in a nutshell: 1. 5 Year Warranty, 2. Active cooling to both the VRM and Chipset, and obviously 8xDIMM LGA 2011 supporting a 6-core SB-E. If you live close to a MicroCenter then for $500 you can pickup the i7-3930K.
