Hello!
I wanna build a windows vista "gaming" pc and, normally, I need a motherboard...
Now, I don't know what motherboard to choose because of drivers. I have an i7 3770 (maybe I will buy an i7 3770k later) and, as I said, I don't know what motherboard is the best for me (+ drivers)...
I want to have PCIe 3.0, Z68 or Z77 chipset (I want z77 but z68 it's good too), USB 3.0 (optionally) and good VRM cooling!
What about x79 motherboards? I found one that has windows vista drivers but I don't know if the CPU (i7 4960x or any other from that generation) is supported by windows vista.
I don't wanna do virtual machines because they suck in performance.
I'm ready to spend $250 just for a compatible, good motherboard.

I use the GA-Z77X-UD5H. It's an excellent board. You should be able to find those easily enough on eBay for well under what you are willing to pay.

If this is specifically for old titles and compatibility. Why not get an era correct P45 chipset motherboard, high end Core 2 Extreme CPU and GeForice 8800/9800 series GPU? Newer hardware is more likely to be an issue in old game compatibility than Vista vs 7.

Cool motherboard but it has just a LAN driver for windows vista...
I don't wanna mess with 775 or other older sockets since I want to quadruple boot windows xp, windows vista, windows 7 and windows 10 :p
