Total noob here.

getting close to buying a better motherboard. What does it all?

looking at MSI godlike but the. I noticed gigabyte boards.
Who in here does music? It’s be nice to be able to buy an Apollo for pc on thunderbolt!
Let me know. $800 plus

Solution
I do like the looks of that Gigabyte board, but it's entire purpose is shortchanging a full custom loop. I prefer to pick my own block, and chances are good that an Optimus would be quite superior in ability. Even my current Raystorm Pro probably is.

A Gigabyte Auros Master is about as good as it gets, otherwise professionals wouldn't use it for test bench reviews.

Origin is pretty nice, Maingear isn't bad either, both being boutique custom prebuilts, but my personal favorite is

And still, $1300. 🇳🇴

You need to design a system.
Not pick stupidly expensive parts at random.

And that system design needs to start with a budget. And then next step is the actual use of it.

Agreed... and here I was thinking the price of my $300 motherboard was high... but it didn't come with a monoblock made of copper. 😆

I must agree. For the price of just that motherboard you can get a 10 core / 20 thread CPU, the cooler, motherboard (if you need TB 3 buy a card with a type c connector) and 64GB of memory.

I like how you recommended parts from my build even if you did miss on the speed of the ram. 4000mhz CL18 was $289.99 a couple months ago when I built. 😆👍 That board is the sexiest non-RGB board on the planet.

If you look at your above post your build was not even their. For the memory speed their not a lot of difference except 3200 speed will be a lot easier to get stable.
3200 16 cas is 10ns

(18/4000) X2000 would be 9ns.

If you look at your above post your build was not even their.

It's clearly visible in my sig... unless you have sigs turned off or something.

Anyway, I hope you aren't taking offense to my post... LOL... I think it's cool to see my parts get recommended. Makes ya feel good you made solid choices. Much like my Meshify 2 case... I found out a week after the build when I saw the YT vids that it made the best of 2020 list over at Gamers Nexus and won best mechanical design.

Again... obvious solid choices... and I bought the 64GB 4000mhz ram because it was only $50 more than 32GB of the 3600... didn't much care about the ram speed as much as I did doubling the ram for $50 more.

Anyway, solid recommendations! 👍

I see every sig under every comment in this thread... so it sounds like a issue on your end... but let me just say i really don't give af either way and am gonna stop responding over something that really doesn't matter.

I like how you're getting bent over me complimenting you for making solid recommendations. Keep it up man! Good job! 👍😆

Sigs are not posts.

It was "there", but not in the normal place one would think.

In any case...it is irrelevant.
Let's move on, and help this person build an actual PC.
