Hey guys,

So i'm wondering what fans would be good for my CASE, not CPU 😀

I have read that the Noctua NF-A14 FLX (140mm) is a great case fan but are there any better ones? (want to use this one for the back of my case)

Also it seems that the Noctua NF-F12 PWM are good 120mm case fans? (i wanna use them for intake)

Can anyone help me out? i also dont know the difference between PWM, FLX, ULN etc, could someone help me out which ones i need to pick here ? Also i heard that the 140mm one (NF-A14 FLX) is a 3pin one, do i still connect it to my mobo? And how can i control it's speed?

Thanks in advance 😀

Holy crap! I'm on my over to your house. I've never heard birds burp in my entire life. Life is passing me by!

Xazone, the PWM fans are 4 pin and ULN fans are slow spinning ultra low noise. What CPU cooler are you using and how many fans are on it? Does your MB have a CPU2 header for a second CPU fan?

I think the 3 pin fans come with resistors to slow them down if your MB doesn't have fan control. If you have a CPU2 header, I would put a output PWM NF-A14/15 there. If your MB has additional PWM headers (like some ASUS boards), use the same there. If not, use some 3 pin fans. I wouldn't use the...
As said above, the Noctua fans are hideous. If you are dead set on them then the above fan listed is a good one. I use Thermaltake RIINGS. They move a TON of air and are super quiet. I also like the Corsair SP120 or SP140s. They are a little on the noisy side but they also move a lot of air.

Well i do not REALLY want them but every forum said they were the best.. The color scheme doesnt really bother me :) im going to check out yours aswell. Thanks for your response!

If their color scheme doesn't bother you then go with the ones I said before. They move air very nicely and are pretty quiet.

Thank you for helping me however which ones do you recommend as 120mm's? I can only seem to find one 140mm in the link you gave me.

I heard those are really loud though? Since its pretty quiet in my room, it would annoy me 😛

Yes, they are, but they move a ton of air...one of those fans is enough to cool 2 computers. But there's tons of noctua 120mm fans...maybe check this one out?

Quieter, but doesn't move quite as much air. Still recommended, however.

Thanks man, i really can't decide between the corsair ones or the noctua ones.. 🙁

I am currently running some of the corsair fans and, though I have never used anything else and have nothing to compare them to, can say for sure that they work fine and without problem.

are you running the sp120's and sp140's or which one are you running?

140

Will anything be blocking the flow of the intake fans, e.g. densely packed hard drives?
