Best nvidia driver ?

I was doing some reading and I heard someone talking about how the currect NVidia driver isn't always the best ? Is this true ?

Like any software push-out, sometimes they aren't.

A while ago NVIDIA's "latest and greatest" driver release actually caused severe problems with a few games.

By and large having the latest driver is a good idea, but this statement is true - sometimes the drivers are released half-baked and then NVIDIA has to backtrack and fix them. It's not really all that common though.

What version of Nvidia's driver will work the best for you is dependent on what video card you have and what OS you are using. Some older hardware runs better on older drivers while brand new hardware will work best on the new or newest drivers.

There is no hard and fast rule, but in general, install the most recent drivers. If there is a problem, then roll back to the older ones that you know works.
