Question Best NVMe SSD for my Lenovo Yoga 7i 2-in-1 ?

I’m thinking of buying the 980 Pro for my 2in1 but don’t know if the laptop can handle it since I noticed the original 512GB nvme is Gen3…. don’t want to buy something my laptop can’t handle. So am looking for a 2tb nvme to go with my Lenovo Yoga 7i 14” 2in1

Any help would be appreciated and I would be willing to sacrifice abit of speed for a more cooler nvme SSD. is anyone has any suggestions. Thanks!!

Thank you reply! So a Gen4 nvme can’t work with a pcie3?

If you expand ‘tech spec’ in the link below the default ssd is pcie3 but I’m not sure if the slot is pcie3 or not

It is a PCIe 3.0 port.

A 4.0 drive such as the 980 Pro would work, but only at 3.0 performance.
So why spend the extra money?
