So far, for my new setup, I'm getting:

[*:8325dc7840]Opteron 165 Dual Core
[*:8325dc7840]DFI LANParty UT NF4
[*:8325dc7840]OCZ Platinum 1GB

I'm planning to OC my system -- but I'm very new to this, and I'm not sure which VC would be best, I'm not a hard core gamer, but I do play games on Steam (HL2, CS:S, etc.)

Budget: Around $250 USD ($275 CAD)

I'm canadian by the way, so I can't actually buy from newegg, but feel free to link wherever for examples.

Thanks!

I would suggest a 7600 GT then like these:

or this

i like the eVGA products, as you can step-up within 90 days, if you wish

you had gotten something with more oomph. I find NCIX the best for

Canada, but they don't seem to have any 7600 GT's there. GL :)

Thanks a lot, those look great.

Could you uhhh... bump up the budget to CAD$332?
Cuz the 7900GT is worth every penny(whatever...) and has higher performance/$ once its potentials are unleashed.

Hmm, nice. I may be willing to spend the extra $$, it does look nice for OC'ing

On a side note, someone at my work is offering a new (never used) X850XT 256mb pcie (can't remember any other details, but I'll check tommorow) for $160 CAD, Is this a good deal?

Thanks!
