I'm trying to find a good gaming laptop for 500ish. I'm fine with refurbished and used but what's a good site to get those. I'm not looking for anything new or top of the line maybe like a 2016 model would be good. Any recommendations? All it has to really be able to do is play games at like low to medium graphics 50 -60fps

There are so many used systems on the market it's impossible to pick one specifically. In your budget you should be able to find a system with a 1050Ti card, maybe even a 1060 if you look around enough. Check craigslist first since you can test out local systems, or eBay if you are OK with buying without seeing it first.

I don’t know the area that you live. But I can tell you that there are a lot of 900 series Nvidia laptops that would be adequate for your needs. For example. A laptop with a graphics card that is a GTX 960m or 970m. If you can get it for a decent price, it’s always good to go a generation or two behind. You almost always get better bang for your buck
