Best option for extending wi-fi to a distant room

I am trying to figure out what the best way to extend Wi-fi to a room above my garage. From the router in the main house it is through 3 walls and a floor. I currently have a wi-fi extender (similar to this), but sometimes it seems to conflict with the main signal. The best option would be to figure out how to make it just extend the range without conflicting, but if not, would a wi-fi powerline adapter be a better overall choice?

a range extended may be the cheapest wat to go and you may only end up needing 1

A non wifi powerline would be the second best solution.
#1 would be an ethernet cable.

WiFi, in any form, is a distant 3rd.

You can pick up powerline adapters for next to nothing and they are way better for connection than wifi. They also increase the speed of your internet and you benefit from less latency too.
