Best OS for Gaming Computer?

I'm building a gaming computer and I'm not sure what OS I should get for it. The debate is between Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit and Windows 8.1 64 Bit. I like Win 7 better because I've used it more often and I'm more familiar with it, but some people have told me that 8.1 would be better because of better driver updates etc. One other concern I have is whether or not they can run these games:
Team Fortress 2
World of Warcraft
Planetside 2
Star Wars: The Old Republic
World of Tanks
Dungeons and Dragons Online
Starcraft 2
Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition
Terraria
Garry's Mod
Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy
Star Wars BF2

Either. Performance difference is tiny either way.
Win 8.1 going forward, for further DirectX updates.

I personally bought Windows 7 64 bit because I hate 8 but I am assuming with 10 on the horizon it probably would be prudent to get 8. For the most part you shouldn't have issues since ,I'm assuming your a steam player, updates are frequent on that site. I would say since most of those games are not really new (SC 2 is still being updated with expansions) that at this moment most support 8.
