So i was curious about my limits on overclocking my i7-6700k. I normally run a 4.6ghz overlock from a simple bios selected overclock but want to know how much higher of an overclock I can achieve. here are my system specs

Cpu: i7 6700k
Cooler: h100i (push 2x cougar dual x fans)
Mobo: gigabyte z170x-ud5 (bios ver.4)
Ram: Corsair LPX (2x8gb 3000mhz)
Gpu: Evga 670 4gb (blower, main display), asus 640 (for my 3 other monitors)
PSU: Corsair RM-850
OS Drive: 850 pro 256gb

Solution
Ive achieved 4.8Ghz stable but that was at a cost of a high voltage that I dont want to run regularly. The cooler is efficient for overclocking, it keeps my CPU as cool as any other cooler besides a custom loop. Im set at 4.6Ghz @1.29V and at full load and over 3 hours of playing/benchmarking I never go above 55C.

I mustve gotten a good bin pick or something because when I did a firestrike benchmark it didnt crash and only sucked 1.248V what other programs besides prime 95 (dont want to use it because its recent issues) can I use to test stabability?

Ahh dont use Firestrike for CPU benchmarking, it is a GPU Benchmark tool. I use Realbench and leave it running for about 30 minutes each time. FIrestrike does test CPU physics and such but not like a true CPU stress test will do.
