Best paging file size??

Ok I just upgraded my system and I now have 2gigs of ram. Do I even still need virtual memory with 2gigs of ram??? If I do whats the best size to set it at for best performance???

Not meaning to be an ass but please go thru the postings here and do a google search. Its all over the net.

It all depends on what you do. set the page file to 2 gigs max and min and forget about it.

With that much ram, just set a 700mb pagefile. It will hardly be used, and will be sufficient for when it is.

with 2 gigs you could potentially turn the paging file completely off. that way the system will never utilize it and always use the ram for fastest. only thing is make sure u dont ever have to utilize more than 2 gigs of memory, or u could have some crashing.

XP will STILL set a pagefile even if you tell it "no pagefile".
