Hello, i have question regarding upgrading my gpu.

i'm waiting for years for prices to go down normal, but i think it will not go down in the year 2022 and seller buying their stock with higher msrp prices so likely they must sell it in current price even if miracle happen price go normal, and i feel like mehh... upgrading gpu anyway.

i have my eye for 3060 or rx 6600 xt for replacing my old rx 480 8gb in 1080p. my current pc is :

  • asrock b450m steel legend
  • ryzen 2600
  • xfx rx 480 8gb black edition
  • xpg m.2 nvme 512gb
  • team elite 2x8 2666 (im planning to change to 3200 in near future)
  • fsp hv pro 85+

i read and watch some yt that my mobo is still pcie 3.0 x16 and watch some benchmark that rx 6600 xt will not working well with that but im not so sure it is true?

so that being said, it is 3060 or rx 6600xt? or i just still should wait?

thanks

:)

Solution
What benchmarks are you talking about?

When NVidia launched the 3090 all presentation numbers were based on using a pcie 3.0 system. As expected the independent reviews showed there was no difference between 3.0 & 4.0.
