GL all!

...never participated in this before, tho i've read them forever. i tried to stick to the priorities/goals within each class, but the $5000 one is just madness! really no wrong answer to it (unless you're not a fan of RGB like myself), & the build variety from everyone so-far reflects that. and the $500 class is really rough, as the CPU+GPU can eat 75% of the budget when trying to handily out-game a console.

i probably didn't submit correctly I have no idea. the intel build blows the other away sadly but the overclocked apu doesn't have throw away components the pieces quality with fast ram and a great drive. I didn't realize shipping and tax could be subtracted. I don't know if pasting them here ruins the game or if this was correct.

Going by the price of your builds, You wanted the $500 Console Killer - Best PC Builds 2018 thread for it. Of course you got a little bit of time, exact amount? unknown. I don't know the threshold to activate the cut-off.... MAYBE a week at most.

Once all of the builds have enough submissions, we’ll close the threads and

IOW, there is a soft cutoff date (as to when you expect to go through the lists)... but if you fall short you may be forced to extend the time frame? (Doubtful that you'll have a problem reaching goal in the expected time frame.)

No thank, no Upgrade of My Desktop is Needed. I am not a gamer, except Solitaire and Kmajong and Yahtzee, I use my Desktop for Video Editing only. It does a good Job the way it is configured, with an Intel I 7 CPU an dual Nvidia 2 GB Graphics Cards hooked by SLI and 32 GB RAM and 16 TB Hard Drive across 4 Drives. An SSD would be of no benefit to me. I run Linux Mint 19 Tara and Windows 7 Pro, off a separate 500 GB drive, using GRUB2, which lets me choose which OS to use on Start up.

I know it really doesn't fit anywhere, I try to squeeze as much performance into the smallest space I can. But this is my current build I call it my: 4k shoebox: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/gBPfRJ

I have the "completed build" published on PCpartpicker, but its listed in its old configuration. Been to lazy to update the page it is here: https://pcpartpicker.com/b/9tQZxr

I got a new project in the works that will be cool when it's done I'm more or less taking both my current system and the Lazer3d LZ7 and smashing them together.

To all the people who didn't make it to the voting stage, your builds were all good IMHO! To those who were shortlisted for each categories, GL to all of you!

That 5,000USD category was just...crazy.

As usual, competition was tough. Indeed. Good Luck to those who are in the public voting stage.

i also don't quite understand how selections were made. for example, there was 1-2 "$1000 Gaming" builds that seemed to fit all the rules & were w/o a doubt capable of the highest fps, but not included in the voting. $500/$1500 had some anomalies like that too. yet, my "$5000 RGB" build is in the finals with only a few RGB fans on the 3 rads - i just built out of creativity & went plaid on it, not towards the build-goals at all. i honestly shouldn't be in the running there.

actually, i thought my weakest entries were the 2 that got picked - while i really thought i'd done exceptionally great on the 500/1000/1500 builds, lol. i'm not upset at all, more confused & wish there was some feedback i could learn from for next time cause this was a lot of fun!

anyway, GL peeps - i looked at all your builds very closely :)

Oh wow, I made the $1000 category. I guess there actually is something to be said for a build with a theme. I'm all for maxing out on performance, but if I'm going to have something on my desk I want a great looking machine... and that is what I went for... because white machines are sharp.

I own the One X and multiple gaming PC's and this thread made me laugh...all I can say is "good luck beating the Xbox One X with a $500 gaming PC. Consoles are gaming rigs built and designed from the ground up with only one goal in mind, 'GAMING', they have custom OS and enhanced games. :)
