[SOLVED] Best PC monitoring tool

Hi all,

I got this alert in my email this morning.

I have no idea which "app" on my computer caused this alert.

I'm wondering if there are user-friendly PC monitoring tools that can track network and app activity / traffic and I can just query by date/time and see what was happening?

Bit of a beginner, so need a user friendly tool.

What were you doing when the alert was actually triggered and appeared?

A particular app, some website....?

My thought is that the "alert" is likely false/bogus.

Just one of those pop-ups that try to scare you into eventually doing something like downloading a "fix" or calling someone who will "help" fix it.

Follow @RARRAF's advice and determine if the alerts stop.

Run AV and malware scans. Back up all important data and ensure the backups are recoverable and readable.

Set up for a system restore.

Keep an eye on URLs when browsing. Especially if unexpected pop-up windows open. I close such windows immediately (if possible) and leave the website.

They sent you a link where you can 'authenticate' and sign back on thru their link? (See what happened there?)
