Hi,

im looking to get a new pair of pc speakers to replace my knackered creative t20s.
I can't afford to go down the sound card/amp & decent bookshelf speakers route but i have around £200 to play with.
mostly just for music as i have headphones for gaming. preferably 2.0. any recommendations?

I should also note that my connectivity is only a 3.5mm jack and usb because i don't have a separate sound card

Thx

If you have the desk space, a set of powered monitors will sound a lot better than standard 2.0 PC speakers. The BOSE ones are OK, but really not very great. for the money.

im just looking at my connection options as i only have optical and 3.5mm jack to work with at the moment. would it be worth me getting a decent sound card to go with them? for the rca inputs? i was looking at https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00ONSBF4K/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_1?smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&psc=1

my dad was going to buy the speakers for me so i can foot the bill for the sound card. would i also need a dac?

thx again

You don't need a sound card, unless you are going for higher end audio with uncompressed music, the onboard sound card will be fine. Your link to the speakers does not seem to work.

Ok Thanks for your response. The speakers i was looking at were a pair of Steljes NS3. i learned that i can just use the optical inputs to connect them to the pc :)
