[SOLVED] Best possible build challenge - 2019 edition

Hey everyone!

(I am aware there are topics similar to this, however they were at least a year or two old and a lot has changed in the tech world since then)

I was bored on the bus home earlier, and thought “I wonder what the best possible build could be without any budget?”

I returned home and did some quick research and came up with this - https://pcpartpicker.com/list/JZb7J8

However I only spend about 5 minutes on this.

Is air cooling or a custom loop a better option? Are quad SLIs a thing? What are the benefits of an EATX over ATX board?

This is just for fun, wanted to see what crazy things people could come up with.

Good luck!

Meh...

We see stuff like this all the time; "Hey! I need a new computer with all the bells and whistles. I've got a $30K budget! Help me build it!". To be honest, anything above about $3000 is really just wasting money. Even if I won the lottery, I doubt I'd spend more that $2500 on a new system (sans monitors).

Even if I had an unlimited budget, I probably wouldn't go for much more than this and even this is more than I need:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel - Core i7-9700K 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor ($409.99 @ Amazon)
CPU Cooler: Corsair - H100i v2 70.69 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($199.89 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: Asus - ROG STRIX Z390-E GAMING ATX...

If I was going to do a new build from scratch I would get something like this:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

And I think I would go for a full custom metal loop instead of a CLL.

an EATx board will require you to buy and EATX case , it's and industry thing
air cooling is good but it's massive and at the end of the day more noisy than water cooling
quad sli is good too but as you might know it's simply expensive , better crossfire than sli

MERGED QUESTION
Question from kindangrysliceofpie : "Dual 2080 ti vs quad 1080 ti?"

Just for funnies, I’m making a parts list of the most powerful possible computer without regard for price, and I had some questions.

Which would be faster? 2 2080Ti’s or 4 1080 Ti’s? Can you do quad SLI with the 2080 Ti?

What’s the difference between SLI and NVlink?
