Hello,

I have a old Desktop I wish to get the max out of for a while longer. It has a corsair 600w PSU, and a 8800 ULTRA about to be replaced with a GTX750 Ti OC 2GB GPU.

This is on a ASUS P5KPL-SE Motherboard, with 4GB of DDR2 which is the max.

Present processor is a Q8200 Quad, cannot OC this easily.

Is there any processor I can use that will give me significantly more, I would prefer to not OC due to heat here.

Thanks

If I were U I would buy a used Q9650 it's have a good performance and good price and if U could buy the QX9770 in the same price that's cool too ... Otherwise I prefer to sell your specs and take a new specs (Haswell or Haswell-R)
Here is the CPU support list for that board along with the necessary BIOS version for it to be recognized.

Finding one from that era won't be easy. Ebay is your best hope, I think.

One of the higher numbered C2Q Q9xxx or C2Q Extreme QX Q9xxx processors would be the best you could do... if you can still find one for sale.
