My friend wants to know. I own an ASUS STRIX GTX 980Ti and from what benchmarks show it is the best possible 980Ti to get exept when comparing it to the MSI Lightning, GIGABYTE XTREME GAMING OC EDITION, EVGA KINGPIN, and other super cards so i thought it would be the best but what do you guys think the best 980Ti under $700 is?

Click on the GPU Manufactuer Tier List on the bottom right of this reply.

Scroll down to the GTX 980 Ti section!

But it has a much lower clock than the other GPU's?

It did not hardly have all the 980Ti models, just a few of them in it. :/

You can overclcock the hell out of that card and still get around less than 60°, it has a great cooler:

I know this sounds crazy but i heard that the Asus Strix, even compared to the EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB HYBRID GAMING, has been know to have a higher overclock ability's when compared to it, is that true? Doesn't water usually cool better than air?

Well from what benchmarks show, the ASUS STRIX 980Ti can be overclocked much higher than the EVGA HYBRID 980Ti even though it may be a little hotter but when both card were Overclocked as high as they ouold go, the ASUS still dominated the Hybrid and i have no idea how an Air cooled card can beat a Water cooled card so easily.

What is much higher? What most people aim is at 1500MHz, and you usually get it with most cards, some get 1450, others go up to 1550, its more a matter of luck in the silicon lottery.

Well my friend does not pal to now will he ever want to overclock it i think i mean i do myself but he fears it for some reason idk why. WHats the best GPU to get if no overclocking will happen.

Kinda depends on exactly what each person's definition of 'best' really is. My Asus STRIX 970 is ranked last in tier3, according to that list, why? It's a solid card, decent OC if I could be bothered by that, great quality, 0 coil whine, extremely quiet, much quieter than the better ranked Gigabyte or zotac cards. So those cards get a few fps higher in benchmarks, that honestly means diddly squat on a 60Hz monitor, the fan volume is of higher importance, to me. So, what is best for me isn't necessarily what is best to someone looking to eek out every last erg of possible power at the expense of other requirements. Aesthetics, power, core clocks, noise, all different appeals.

True but the 980Ti Strix is the best when it comes to the 980Ti series. It has been getting higher overclocks than what the EVGA Hybrid, MSI Sea hawk and Gigabyte extreme has been getting. And yea i understand what you are saying. It is like Food, everyone likes a different taste.
