Hello this is my first time posting on this site but I've been here before plenty of times for recommendations on things..
Recently I bought a new power strip, the
Belkin BE112230-08 12-Outlet Power Strip Surge Protector https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000J2EN4S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_oq6lzb97185NE
And now my gaming rig is having issues running games, whenever I get into a graphic intensive game or run too many processes, my computer goes nuts and stops displaying to my 4K tv. After that the fans instantly go as high as possible and then go back to normal and I have to shut my computer down and restart it to get it to display again. At first I thought it may have just been a psu issue, so I switched out my 650w for a 850w which is more than what I need for my rig.
Gtx 1080ti
32gb ddr5 ram
core i5 processor
Windows 10x64
But the same issue happened again... what I don't understand is that the power strip has a capacity of over 1800w, so I don't know why it cannot supply sufficient power to my rig, everything else plugged in does not take anything close to my rig and to make sure I unplugged everything but the tv and pc and still had the same issue..
So I'm guessing the power strip just cannot supply enough power into one outlet, that or my strip is defective. I have also tried moving my plug for my pc into different outlet slots with no difference.
So my question is, is my power strip just defective, or should I just buy a different one. I would appreciate any recommendations, I'm looking for one that is a 12 outlet with surge protection.
(Note* I previously used an older model 6 outlet power strip from Belkin and never had an issue with it, the problems only started when I got my new power strip.)
