Hi, looking to build a new (gaming) system for approximately 500.00 total without operating system, it will probably go over 500.00 but so far for price to performance ratio I am thinking an AMD system.
x2 5400 black edition proc/ aftermarket cooler. 87+cooler so 120?
assuming of course it is worth purchasing the black edition rather than a retail w/ retail fan. Will this bottleneck the system? Should i invest 190.00 into a 9850 be? I dontt hink quade core is worth it for a gaming system. (Id rather go E8400 if I did this since the system is for gaming)

Antec Sonata III and earthwatts 500 PSU on sale - 100.00$
RAM~well just say $45.00 for 2 gigs (many are on sale for 25.00$). Is there much of a performance increase between ddr2 800 and 1066 if your not using an AMD chip with faster HT, if not ddr2 800 is a much better value.
500GB HD ~75.00
Video card - tough selection here to. Is the Hd 4850 for say 150.00 better than an HD 3870 price/performance wise of course. for say 95.00? (ebay). is it worth getting the current 4850's with slower ram? should i look for an 8800gt?
