Best printer that can printe in Grey if color catridges are out

Hello all,

I'm extremely tired of my HP Photosmart C7180. What i hate is the fact that it refuses to print when the color cartridge(s) are low.
I want to buy a printer that works in such scenario.
I been looking at BROTHER MFC J6510DW just to hint what prince range / type of printer i'm after.

For me its very important that
- I'm able to print Black/White if color cartridge is out
- Its a multifunctional printer (scanner/Printer)
- Prince range of BROTHER MFC J6510DW (around 2-300 dollar)
- Mac support (prefer native, my HP dont require any driver on my Macbook pro, i just print using OSX build-in drivers)
- Good quality ofc

So is there anyone knowing of any such printer that fulfills the above?

There is no inkjet that will print if the color ink is out.
Get a laser jet for black/white printing and a cheap inkjet for color. Should cost you $300 or less for both.

A used HP2200 should be a good pick, they are very reliable although older.
