i have a ASUS m5a97 le r2.0 and I am wondering what is the best processor for this board. Right now I have the AMD FX-8350 Eight Core Processor and a gtx 550ti. Is there a better processor than this or should I just get a new board with a new processor. Thanks for your time. (also, i'm trying to stream with OBS so I need a good processor)

once you get into the 9xxx series of amd CPUs I believe you have to get a 990x motherboard even though the fx 9xxx series CPUs are am3+ CPU chips alot of the am3+ motherboards still wont support it and also I believe you have the best amd cpu until you get into the 9000 series in which you will then need a new mobo

Yes, according to the manufacturers website, that is the best CPU that board can take http://www.asus.com/uk/Motherboards/M5A97_LE_R20/HelpDesk_CPU/ it's only 4 + 1 power phase so it won't overclock well.

If it's not for gaming and you just need a more powerful CPU you may as well make the jump to Intel as you'll need a new motherboard and the FX 9000 series are like space heaters!

This Xeon is basically an i7 but without integrated graphics and quicksync

or if you want an overclocking setup

Sticking with AMD

Do you think i'll be able to stream without lag with the 9000 series? I know internet is a factor, but i'm not that worried about it.

Ill take you up with the Xeon, but what about my motherboard and graphics card? I'm pretty sure im going to need to parts so the Xeon doesn't get choked to death

Well for gaming your 550Ti is looking very old these days, a GTX 970 or R9 290 would be a worthy addition.

In the links I gave you I suggested a motherboard that works with the Xeon, it doesn't overclock so H97 boards are a good match

I'm not really going to be playing pc games, I just want to stream my xbox one with OBS. Also, do you think 8 gigs of ram and a 500 watt is good for this setup?
