best processor for sabertooth x58

what is the best processor for saber tooth x58 motherboard, i'm looking to spend around £500 and was looking at the Intel i7-970 six Core, but not sure since this my first build and quite new to this, so please tell me what you think, thanks.

If it's your first build you better get something more recent. That chipset is quite old.

LOL, no its not... at all. That is quite an old MOBO, if you are going to spend the money get a z97 ASUS and an i7-4790k. Pair that with a 780ti, or 880 and 16gb of ram.

Hi, thanks for fast reply's the reason why is bought the motherboard a few years ago and was going to do p.c build but never got around to doing it. i'm quite new to this and try get much advice as possible before i go jump ahead jump this time.. i was thinking would it be worth it just doing a total new build but wasn't too sure and spend a total of £800.

Better off getting a new z97 and 4790K as suggested. You don't want to buy an i7-980 - too much money. For £800 - buy new and sell your mobo.
