Best protection (PSU and UPS) under $80.

As the title says. Be advised that there is a sale going on on newegg, and I could snatch an RMx for 70. However, amazon is preferred. I do have prime. If it is ultimately cheaper, then newegg is preferred. My build uses a single HDD, gtx 1060, and i5 6500. Modularity is preferred, but give me a modular and non-modular best choice if y'all can. If I get a high quality PSU, I may not get an UPS, but I go cheaper I can get both. Which ever has the best protection and longevity works for me.

By ups are you referring to a surge protection power strip? A ups is an uninterruptible power supply which works similar to a surge protector but also uses a battery inside it. The main feature being if the power goes out for a minute or two it will use the battery reserve to keep the pc operating long enough to safely shut it down. You're not going to find a ups and psu both for under $80. A psu sure, a ups with enough battery power to hold up a pc plus the monitor (doesn't do much good if you can't see the screen) probably not.

Maybe one of these in the $50-60 range after rebate.

There's a $30 evga b1 unit after rebate but the b2/g2 series are better quality. Unfortunately they don't have any b2 or g2 units in that price range.

When it comes to ups devices, it helps to know what they're rated for. One like this 750va model says it runs for 2.5 minutes. It's on sale for $80.

If you go to the apc website they have a calculator to help choose what va rating you need based on wattage and how long you want it to run. As an estimate I entered 400w, figuring for the pc at load plus the monitor and selected a run time of 10min on battery and they recommend a unit with 1300va rating which is much more expensive than $80. Those are just estimates I put into the calculator to get somewhat close. Basically it gives you enough time to shut down not really battery power to continue gaming or other things for extended time if the power goes out and stays out for any real length of time.

EDIT: The 550w version is at the same price as the 650w currently on newegg, but I really want to buy a value PSU on amazon since I have Prime.

Actually, I could get a XFX TS ($60) or a XFX XTR ($85), both on Amazon. Newegg also has the Supernova G2 for about $85 (Plus s&h) and amazon for $90. Which one should I get for value?
