Best PSU for the Job

Hey guys im currently building my new System and iv decided to go with a Gigabyte 790fxt(A)-ud5
and waiting for the AMD PHenom X6 (cant wait) 2x2 G.Skill Ripjaw at 1600mhz
i have a ATI 5770 in my current system and i will probably run Cross fire in the near future
im 100% sure what chassi i will go with going to look for some more reviews
my options are Antec 900 or 1200
cool master HAF thermal-take armor+ full or mid
Opinion and other suggestions for a good case are greatly appreciated
(will i need a full tower case or should i just go with a mid??)

This System is for Mainly gaming and im trying to make it last 3-5 years

These are the official minimum requirements for your Graphics Card:

450 Watt or greater power supply with one 75W 6-pin PCI Express® power connectors recommended (600 Watt and two 6-pin connectors for ATI CrossFireX™ technology in dual mode).

Remember these are for your entire system. You should be good an a solid, reliable 650-750W PSU with sufficient amps on the +12V rail. A good PSU should have between 50-60A on the +12V rail at this level of wattage. Such brands are generally Corsair, Seasonic, Antec etc. You can find this information on the manufacturer's website or post back here if you aren't sure.

SO all i would really need is a good 750W PSU?? Is 850W over kill or waste of money in my case?

I'd be tempted to go for the Corsair TX750 especially with the price difference between that and the Seasonic. 850W would really be overkill for your needs yes. The Corsair you pointed to is more than enough and should see you ok for a long while. Off the top of my head, I believe it comes with a 5 year warranty. Good luck!

Ok umm i accidentally put the XFX twice it was so pose to be the Antec true power 850W

I also added the 750 Antec true power to my second post about 185$

Which would be better the Corsair 750 or the antec 750 ??

I think i might go with the Antec not 100% sure but the blue LED is whats got me wanting it
(im a sucker for LED)
All i need now is to decide what case i should go with will a Mid tower fit all this or will i need a Full ?

The general rule of thumb is a high quality 500 to 550 watt power supply with sufficient current (amps) on the +12 volt rail(s) can easily power a system with any single video card made. A high quality 700 to 750 watt power supply with sufficient current (amps) on the +12 volt rail(s) can power a system with two video cards operating in dual mode. There are a few exceptions like the new ATI Radeon HD 5XXX series cards which use less power due to their energy efficiency.

A high quality 500 to 550 watt psu will have a +12 volt rail rated at 40 amps. A high quality 700 to 750 watt psu will have a +12 volt rail rated at 60 amps.

In addition the power supply should be at least 80+ Bronze certified for energy efficiency. There are some models available which have achieved 80+ Silver and 80+ Gold Certifications.

Before purchasing a new psu you will need to decide whether you will eventually have a pc with one or two video cards.

Corsair and Seasonic are two brands that have a reputation for high quality power supplies that consistently earn high marks in technical reviews. They are reliable, stable, and come with a 5 year warranty. Some of the newer models come with a 7 year warranty. Lately we've been seeing a few other brands offering some high quality units. One example would be the Antec Earthwatts and the Antec TruePower New series which are major improvements over Antec’s older psu’s like the Basiq models.

I'd agree with this. If you can afford a full tower case you would probably have a bit more room to play with which will make your life easier. Good luck!

With the Antec 1200 you listed, it's real hard not to put in the CP-850 ....nothing tops it electrically or acoustically....and its soooo inexpensive, I find it real hard to recommend anything else.

Will it fit into any other case besides the 1200?Like the Rv01 or Rv02 because that is most likely what i will go with.(but the 1200 is the plan B option )
And its mighty cheap =_) 160$
