[SOLVED] Best RAM Configuration

I'm ordering a 27" iMac,

It'll have 8GB of RAM and I'm wondering if anybody knows what the real world performance difference is between having
(2) 4GB chips over (4) 2GB chips.

No difference. Obviously, with 2 X 4 GB, you'll leave more slots free, thus enabling you to upgrade further as & when required.
