best ram for AMD 9590 and crossfire v formula z

cool..thanks Drew..!

any other suggestions?
I am really open to any ideas...cooling??

any direction on where to buy the ram?

Buy the RAM wherever you can find it the cheapest. I mainly use Newegg, and Amazon (I have prime). For cooling, i would go with a Corsair H100 or Thermaltake extreme 2.0, as the 9590 requires a lot of cooling. Although if you are buying the one that comes with the water cooler in the box, then you are fine, as I doubt that you will be overclocking it any further.

If you want any other suggestions you can tell me what parts you would like suggestions for, and what your budget is for them!

EDIT: Most of the Trident X modules are 16GB kits. If you only want to go for 8GB then I would suggest the Ripjaws series in red color.

so heres what I am thinking-
I already bought these from NewEgg and had RMA all three---NewEgg made me pay shipping and would only give me store credit......so I have some time to get some advice and do some research before I pull the trigger again.
Crossfire V formula Z
AMD FX-9590 8-Core Processor (4.7 GHz) - came with Asetek water cooler
32GB DDR3, Corsair VENGENCE

heres the link to the whole story...

also have
AsusR9270 Radeon R9 270
inside a Rosewill Blackhawk Ultra
PSU-Corsair Professional Series HX 1050 Watt ATX/EPS Modular 80 PLUS Gold (HX1050)

So I am thinking I would really want to make sure the ram is going to play nice with the MB and Proc.
I didn't get much advice before buying that ram and now am re-thinking after going through all of this trouble.

Thanks for any help and direction!

Finally found a good ram solution...according to the QVL from ASUS and the AMD compatibility DB at pc-specs.com
Corsair Vengeance 32GB (4x8GB) DDR3 1600 MHz (PC3 12800)(CMZ32GX3M4X1600C10)
close to what I had, but the one I had does not appear on the ASUS nor AMD list for compatibility..
this set seems to be friendly to all...

thanks Drew...I am building it specifically for a set of software and was told that was how much to get....

great...now I need to find another MB...the formula z is out of stock....ugh

you think this one would work well?

Asus Sabertooth 990FXGEN3 R2.0

That is the MOBO that I have =], but if you need 32GB of RAM then that's fine, I would go with faster speed and/or lower latency RAM though. The MOBO is great. It has exactly the same specs as the Crosshair, but a different color scheme, and has PCIe 3.0 rather than 2.0.

cool...suggestions on ram?

crap, does that mean I need to upgrade gfx card too?

also it looks like it only has two sata 3...is that correct?

I need at least 5 HD connectors...it's a special build...

No, you won't need to upgrade your GPU, all the 3.0 vs. 2.0 does is increase the bandwidth available. As for SATAIII ports, it has 8, I'm looking at them right now. 6 are AMD 6Gb/s, and 2 are RealTek media (whatever that is)

sounds great!!!

thats the one Ill get then...

thanks Drew...

cool...great to know!

thanks again....

recieved replacement parts..

MB - Crosshair V Formula Z
PROC - AMD 9590
RAM - Corsair Dominator GT
PSU - Corsair HX 1050

Inside the MB manual it does have this ram listed in the QVL...even all of the latency matches....so I'm felling good at this point...Tested the PSU with a tester and all seems good....
now bench testing everything else....as per Bench above...
I'll keep you posted....should know something soon.....

well...It all checked out....put it all together and got to POST!
went into setup..set the DVD to be the 1 boot device...but it says CPU FAN error....and stays on that page forever....tried restarting ...no go...
it sees the HD and the DVD drive...I connected the 8pin connector to the MB but it seems there is a 4 pin 12V connector next to where the cpu fan is plugged in...it seems from the manual that you plug one or the other...should I plug in both the 8 Pin AND the 4pin?
worried I will screw up something if I do....
I did put in the ASUS CD that came ith the MB and it allowed me to get to a DOS screen, but it has been so long since I have tried to run a cd from there I can't remember how..guess I'll look that up for now......

got it!!
decided to plug in the 4 pin as well as the 8 pin and it worked!

now I can maybe be of some help to someone because I finally have something figured out!

thanks again for all of your help!

Are you running your memory at 2400MHz?
Is it the Corsair Vengeance Black?
Please post your settings so the others can
benefit from your experience.
I had problems with the G.Skill Trident X 4x8GiB
at 2400MHz would only run at 1333MHz.
RMA'd the board and will try again with
another different board that says it is for
220Watt TDP.
If it is the memory then I'll RMA the memory 1
to 3 times and if that does not work I'll
switch to another brand.
Oh and the board would only go up to a
150Watt TDP setting which was my
reason for RMA.

How did this scenario end? I'm using 16gb of G.Skill Ares RAM on my Crosshair with an FX9590, and it will only run at half the frequency listed on the memory. I have tried a plethora of methods to rectify this but without luck. Corsair Vengeance users don't seem to have this issue, but I'd like a means to determine whether it's the board or the RAM. I should also add that upon tinkering with some of the RAM settings (Frequency/timing) the machine will randomly just 'not post' -- then start up fine after shutting down for a minute or two and trying again.

It's getting on my last nerve, memory shouldn't be so difficult to configure. Nothing is more frustrating than opening Speccy or CPU-Z after spending a half hour trying to fix your memory speeds and seeing this kind of crap:

Mind you, it's G.SKILL Ares Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin 2133 MHz (PC3 17000).

I know that the 8350 CPU can only support up to 1866 MHz Ram. I'd like to get the 9590, but if it don't support higher Ram, then why bother.

Anyone know what MHz Ram the 9590 CPU will support?

AMD says 2133mhz, with AMD memory.
http://

I have the GSkill Trident X 4x4gb 2400mhz approved for CHVF-Z, ran at 2401 in DOCP np with my FX8370 at stock or OC, but unstable with FX9590 at stock with same DOCP settings. Maybe NB voltage needs to be manually set. I had at 1.2125V I think with 8370. I see 9590 auto voltage is over 1.4V. Just want my speedier RAM back. Takes me over the Oculus spec score in 3D mark fire strike, which makes me happy, even if $599 is a huge jump from $350 and blew the oculus price near the Fury price (ohoh caps giving away fan boy status).
What NB voltages are people running with this CPU? Maybe I need to go with 2x8gb?
