Hey there im new to this forum so im sorry if i put this thread in the wrong place,

Anyway, here is my future rig

CPU: Amd phenom 2 x6 1090t black edition
Mobo: Asus crosshair IV formula
Graphics card: Xfx hd 5770
CPU heatsink: Noctua NH D14
case: Antec 1200
Power supply: Antec CP 850

So i was wondering what would be the best mid priced gaming memory, so far ive seen the G.skill Ripjaws 4gb 2x2gb

Please any help would be greatful thanks

Wait, you are taking an x6 and a crosshair what ever motherboard for a gaming rig ?

Just take a normal motherboard and a phenom 2x4 955 and get a better graphic card.

6870 will be much more powerful than your little 5770

Also, g.skill ddr3 1600 mhz is more than enough, gaming memory or not, they are all about the same performances.

Hmm...I don't know, I would work off the list e.g. CMP4GX3M2A1600C9 ; since they're NOT on the list confirm with Corsair prior to purchase to be on the safe side [CMD4GX3M2A1600C9] -> http://www.corsair.com/helpdesk/default.aspx it's what I would do. Personally, I always verify and never 'guess' components and in doing so I rarely have a compatibly issue.

ONLY the HD 5770 can Crossfire with another HD 5770 {although in 'red' I still would NOT mix a HD 5750}; see CF chart:

OK, I'm a little confused at some of the make / models of ram some of you are suggesting like the G. Skill Flare ram. I bought 8 gb's of G. Skill Ripjaw ram; F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL and I get an audible post error that according to the Asus Crosshair IV Formula manual means that it doesn't recognize the Ram. I then checked the comparability list for ram on their site and and sure enough my ram wasn't listed and neither is the ram you've suggested, so how did you get it to work?
