Hi,
I have purchased an i7 4790k and an Asus VII Hero.
I was looking at RAM sticks and came up with the following:

Keep in mind that I currently have a HyperX Blu 1600 Mhz CL8 2*4GB. I am torn between getting a TridentX 2400 CL9 2x4, or a HyperX Beast 2400 CL11 2x4, or a HyperX Predator 2666 CL11 2x4. I am open to any other suggestions. I also considered perhaps going with a low profile RAM, but since it's the same price I thought I might as well go high-end.

I will be using the PC mainly for high-end gaming, but I also use video editing and animation programs from time to time.

Solution
get faster than your original, same voltage, so that you can slow it down to match your current stick, there is little performance in faster ram.
I currently have the Hyperx blu 1600 mhz cl9 2*4 and a 2*2 1333 mhz cl9 kingston kit. So I am now running the whole 12 gb at 1333 mhz cl9. Should I just remove the 2*2 and stay with 8 gbs of RAM, or purchase another 2*4 kit to be instead of the 2*2? And if I do purchase the 2*4, should I get a kit of above 1600 mhz so that in the future I won't have to upgrade it or should I just go with a simple 1600 mhz kit?

And if I do get new RAM, should I get a 1600 mhz low voltage kit, or a 21333~2666 kit?
