I'm planing to buy a new ram for my desktop which has a H61M-CS mobo. The max ram frequency supported is 1600MHz by the mobo. I found few deals in Amazon for 8GB DDR3 RAMs by G.SKILL 1600Mhz & Fury X which has a 1866Mhz frequency, both costs same amount. But the Fury X looks good to me! but it exceeds my mobos max frequency support! G.Skill looks ordinary to me but it is 1600Mhz. Will the 1866Mhz Fury X work with my mobo on 1600Mhz? As I'm living in india please provide me link of indian sites if any other suggestions! Thanks in advance.

Even if you drop in a ram kit that's stated to run at DDR3-2400MHz, the board will downclock and run the ram kit at relaxed timings at DDR3-1600MHz. So in theory, and in practice, you can drop just about any ram kit above DDR3-1600MHz. Actually that also depends on whether you're on an Ivy bridge processor. If you're on a Sandy Bridge processor, then it's limited to DDR3-1333MHz.

Please don't mix and match ram sticks/kits. I would suggest you either go for a 2x4GB DDR3-1600MHz 1.5v kit or a 2x8GB DDR3-1600MHz 1.5v kit. You didn't mention the stick of ram you currently have.

This site is based in USA, if yo're looking for suggestion based on your location, it'd help us to narrow down where you can purchase off of. Amazon.in tends to have some high prices, IMHO.

I currently uses 4GB 1333Mhz Ram and Currently have a i5 3470, which i think is Ivy Bridge. I think the current ram is faulty because it sometimes gives a Blue Screen and it's a bit slow now a days. So I'm buying a 1x8GB stick which will save my another Ram Slot for future upgrades. So there is no problem with a 8GB 1866Mhz Ram? Thanks
