I've always wanted to make a channel for playing games and just messing around, but i'm curious as to what software I should use for recording and editing game-play. I'm okay with paying for both, max budget like $250 for everything. I want top quality game-play recording, and an in-depth, but easy to use video editing program.
Here's my PC if anyone is curious. http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/dqRc7P
Thank you!
EDIT: I also would not be against buying new/upgrading parts (I was thinking Mic). Any suggestions?

I definitely recommend Nvidia Shadowplay for recording, and Sony Vegas Pro 11/12/13 for editing... But, when it comes to recording mic sound, I should indeed go with the Blue Yeti posted above.. It's one of the most popular and best USB microphones.. It's used by loads of YouTubers... One thing to note, if you're going to record with Shadowplay, make sure you're only going to record in-game sound and use Audacity for recording mic sound.. Audacity is free... That is, because Shadowplay doesn't record the mic and in-game sound in two separate lanes (IYKWIM)... Which means, in the editing software you can't adjust the sound of the mic or in-game sound... So use Audacity then.. It takes a little bit of synchronizing, but it's better in the...

Is ShadowPlay free? and isn't Sony Vegas like $600 or am I mistaken?

Shadowplay comes with all nvidia GPUs, you already have it if you have geforce experience.
If it doesn't work for you, OBS is a free alternative:

Getting a professional/good recording mic IS important.
People don't want to listen to someone recorded over a shoddy headset mic.

I want to be able to add images and animations at random parts during the video, like if something funny happens, I think it would be cool if i could flash a picture on the screen. If you know something like JonTron makes, he'll have an image and make it move and stuff. It's kind of hard to explain. I like how massive Adobe Premier is, but monthly subscription seems annoying. Would any Adobe Premier owners be able to vouch for it? I'm curious if POWERDIRECTOR 13 ULTRA has the in-depth customization that i'm looking for...
