Best replacement for Intel Pentium P6200 PGA989 Arrandale

i have a samsung S3511 laptop but there is nothing anywhere online about this particular model, however is almost identicle to the samsung RV510, i'd like to know what CPU's will work in this laptop, it currently has a pentium p6200 and would like to know which is the best cpu that works

i have done as much research as possible, i have opened the laptop, the cpu is removable, socket PGA989, i know an i5 3230m doesnt work in it as it just gives a black screen and nothing else.....

also i read something about the pentium p6200 being an "Arrandale" is that what the replacement architecture needs to be, would an i7 640M work?

In 2 Acer laptops with P6000 and P6100 I've sucessufully made upgrade to i7-640M and i7-720QM, They only run with a little extra fan noise. If you keep it clean and with a good air flow they will work great.

hi, thanks for your reply, im considering a i7 720QM but i noticed there are no graphics specifications for it, is it just a cpu or cpu/gpu like the 640M as i dont think my samsung s3511 has an integrated gpu

Both those Acer had 512Mb Ati graphics, I didn´t worried about integrated graphics, but you're right, the 720QM doesn´t have one.
The i7-640M seems better for my experience, it´s only dual core but much higher clock a higher cache/core, my son still has the one with 720QM and sold mine with 640M to a neighbour, both still working fine, those where already used laptops and I made this upgrade over 3 years ago.
