[SOLVED] BEST RGB PSU

Hello
unfortunately I cannot find any website that lists\ranks PSUs by failure rate, hence this thread..
I am going to replace my Cougar GX800 and I am interested in a PSU that has:

->from a reputable brand with at least 3 years warranty
->has a ''silent''mode (semi-passive..Fan only spinning when reaching certain temperature) since the fan on my Cougar is already making strange noises after only 2 years because the poor guy is always spinning.. even when I am just looking at photos or playing youtube
->at least 800W (but not over 1000w)
->at least semi-modular (but really fully modular is actually pointless since everybody is going to use 1xMobo power, 1-2 cpu power cables, 1x pcie power and at least 1 drive).
->two EPS 12v CPU Power cables like the Corsair RM850x (I am planning on buying either 9900K or 10900K and overclock it as far as it goes).
->R̶̷G̶̷B̶̷ ̶̷(̶̷n̶̷o̶̷t̶̷ ̶̷1̶̷0̶̷0̶̷%̶̷ ̶̷m̶̷a̶̷n̶̷d̶̷a̶̷t̶̷o̶̷r̶̷y̶̷ ̶̷b̶̷u̶̷t̶̷ ̶̷I̶̷ ̶̷R̶̷E̶̷A̶̷L̶̷L̶̷Y̶̷ ̶̷W̶̷A̶̷N̶̷T̶̷ ̶̷R̶̷G̶̷B̶̷ ̶̷I̶̷F̶̷ ̶̷P̶̷O̶̷S̶̷S̶̷I̶̷B̶̷L̶̷E̶̷)̶̷ no RGB SINCE SECURITY IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN LOOKS
price is not really important-I'd say my limit would be about 300€
in the last weeks I was pretty set on buying a Seasonic Psu since I heard that Seasonic is the only PSU maker that makes its own PSUs but yersterday I found out that even Seasonic outsorces their PCB-A ... So I think I should choose not by Brand but by Model ..but I cannot find any recent listing\ranking of PSU's by failure rate (which ones have e.g 0.1% or 9% failure rate).
Allthough I love ASUS (their mobos and monitors are top-notch- I have them), I am hesitant to buy the ROG-THOR since it's the first PSU they ever made..

I would be very grateful if anyone would have some suggestions..

Asus doesn't actually make them, Seasonic does does and they are great units.

IMHO you be paying a premium for the RGB on a good PSU. There are many RGB PSU that are just polished garbage.

A couple of other options are the Thermaltake toughpower RGB grand or iRGB plus, while I normally don't recommend Thermaltakes these are good units.

You won't find a failure rate list, so you have to go by reviews of known platforms.

One problem you run into is that the market for quality RGB power supplies is fairly small. Enthusiasts are digging RGB right now, but comparatively few seem interested in blinging out their safety equipment (and a large percentage are hiding their PSUs behind shrouds). Where this creates a problem is that most RGB power supplies are actually crappy ones that the RGB is slapped too (hi, Thermaltake!)

If the RGB is really something you prioritize, you only have a few to choose from. The one you mentioned, the Thermaltake Toughpower Grand, and FSP's PTM+ are the only three I can even think of off-hand that you'd want to buy.

ok then, without RGB, but with every other point on my ''requirements list'' which one would you recommend? ..no, which one WOULD YOU BUY FOR YOURSELF if u were to upgrade now (but a 800w+ model)

I have decided to get the the 850w Thor... its not that expensive considering that a Seasonic Prime Ultra Platinum or Titanium also is above 200€ but Thor has RGB ;-)
The Corsair RM850 doesnt have all japanese capacitors like thor .. and ripple suppression is not as good either.
Today I learned that Seasonic makes PSU's for other companies.. Had I known Thor was a heavily modified (to the better) Seasonic I wouldnt have opened this thread
