Best screen resolution for GTX 980TI

Hello,
I would like to do a build with a GTX 980 ti and wondered if I should get a 4k monitor or if it is better if I settle for a 1440p monitor.

It looks like it runs actual games at good fps on 4K but I wonder if that will still be the case in the future.

1440p is preferred in most cases. If you get a 4K monitor the Fury X does better. But honestly diminishing returns really starts hitting you.

Actually in most games the 980ti is faster than the Fury X on 4k.

But with a single 980ti i'd stick to 1440p or 1080p 144hz.

I run SLI 970s which are basically equal to a single 980Ti. I game on a 1440p monitor and haven't played a game yet that can't maintain 60FPS with this setup. I would go with 1440p if I were you. It's a noticeable step up from 1080p.

I would skip 4K right now unless you are willing to go with SLI 980Ti. A single 980Ti is not capable of playing at max settings and 60 FPS in 4K for modern AAA games.
