I was just looking to get some advice on how to set up these 3 hard drives. I've collected these from other computers and just wanted to know what would be the best setup to maximize my performance. Throw 2 away and use the 1TB? Just trying to make an overclock budget build

WD 1TB - WD10EZEX
Samsung 500GB - HD501LJ
Maxtor 250GB - 6L250S0

Hi there shenne,

I believe your WD Blue drive should be the OS one.
You have a desktop machine right? You can just attach the other two, so you can have more storage space. One of the other drives, you can use for storing some media let's say, while the third one could be a back up one. Keep in mind you should always back up the data that you need.

Apart from that, it will not hurt to test your drives, so you can make sure they are in a healthy state.

You can run both short and extended DLG tests on your WD drive: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=4F6hvi

As for the other drives, you can use some of these: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/282651-32-best-diagnostic-testing-utility
