Best Silent GPU

Trying to build a quiet PC from old parts. What's the best fanless / quiet GPU currently on market??

It`s up to your budget.
For example, the MSI GTX 970 4G has a 0db function that doesn`t start the fans until the card reaches 60 degrees celsius.
And even after the fans start, it`s extremely silent.

What parts exactly will you be using, sir? And what do you expect from the graphics card? There are many passive solutions out there, if you won't do any gaming than basically any of them should do just fine.

I've built quiet PCs in the past. The big question is, what do you want to do with it?

Intel Integrated graphics would be the straightforward solution. Best fanless GPU is probably this GTX 750 Ti 2GB.

If you need more power then you just won't get a graphics card that's 'silent' under load, just quieter than the others but still significantly noticeable. So it's depends on whether you want a PC that's silent for normal use but can live with noise during games.

OK, can't expect help if I don't cough up my current plans / specs 😉

i7 860 is my current chip. I have a pair of 5850s in crossfire, but those guys are kind of loud... I'd like to connect this PC to a television to play blu rays, stream from my main desktop via Steam in-home streaming, and for playing local multiplayer games.

ideally....? if I can get a single board that roughly matches the 5850 pair that also is a bit quieter than two old loud cards, that'd be great. I'm not expecting to do any heavy gaming on this one, so I'm OK w/ sacrificing a little bit of power for decreased decibels...

On Nvidia part, GTX 760 is slightly more powerful than your SLI'd cards and is also way more quiet. On AMD part, you can get a single R9 270X or above.
