[SOLVED] Best slot for Installing PCIe Esata Adapter Card ?

Hi Gang

With regard to a Dell Precision 3620 with an i7-7700K, just checking to confirm the best place for a #4 Port esata PCIe Adapter Card would be in the bottom x16 PCIe slot? Yes? I'm installing this multi-port esata card in order to (read/write) and gain access to more storage drives with benefit of faster transfer speeds.

IMHO, add-on cards like the one you've linked often tend to be slower or the same as what you've got bundled with your prebuild. You should populate the PCIe x4 slot that's demarcated as number 2 in this link. I'd advise that you make sure your prebuilt is on the latest BIOS version prior to adding or upgrading anything in said prebuilt.

System Board Slot #2 Yes? (which is labeled PCI)

Slot labelled 2 in that linked image(which is the shortest expansion slot) is PCIe, not PCI, you need to read through it again;
