Best Software For Extreme File Compression

I want the best software possible for file compression ,no matter the time it will take.

7zip or Win RAR will do the best that is possible. You cant force a file to compress by throwing computational resources at it and using creative software techniques. Some files simply cannot be compressed without losing part of the data structure, making the file corrupted.

Video files and image files are usually compressed already. Text files and program files are generally compressible.

To re-iterate, no all powerful cpu will compress better than your run of the mill intel CPU (faster yes, smaller no). 7zip seems to have the best compression algorithm, but it wont beat RAR and ZIP by large amounts.
