I have hyperx cloud 1 gaming headphone. But when i used it, i felt heavy bass. And with heavy bass, i cannot hear enemy footsteps at all. I haven't changed anything in Windows sound settings as i don't know much about it. Its all default. And i don't have any equaliser as of now. So anybody knows some settings to cancel that bass? And most importantly the headphone is built for gaming, and my friend also has the same. He can hear everything properly and without bass. So some one please help me out of this!!

Are you running onboard sound? Most MBs these days have HD audio built-in, usually Realtek. When you install the latest driver for your onboard sound, it should include a settings panel which in the case of Realtek, always has an EQ.

Here's what mine looks like...

To access the EQ, you click on the button shown in the red box. Then adjust the frequencies with the sliders, then click Save, name the settings you chose, then click Yes.

What should i increase or decrease to get the perfect sound for gaming?
