Hi folks,

I've just got a new speaker system (Logitech Z333 2.1 system: http://www.logitech.com/en-us/product/z333-2-1-pc-speaker-system-with-subwoofer)... and the satellite speakers are a bit too big to fit next to (either side) of my monitor... would it be fine to place them either just behind or just in front of my IPS monitor (or could this placement cause damage to the monitor from the vibration etc)?

Thanks for any advice!

Solution
Sound wise you dont want to put it behind something becasue you are now blocking sound and creating sound collistion.
There will be no physical damage issue, just reduced sound quality.

You can turn the speakers sideways if that will enable them to sit in front of monitor.

Thanks boosted1g!

So it should be fine to place them in front of the monitor (almost touching the monitor, on each side)?

Thanks boosted1g!

I just realised today what you meant with turning the speakers sideways (laying on their side)... that's a really great idea and works well for placing the speakers in front under the monitor 🙂

Enjoy your evening and thanks again!

By the way, my new speakers have a really strong plastic smell (gives me a headache)... have you ever come across this before with new products (especailly speakers)? And if so, any suggestions? 🙂 Thanks!
