Best Speed For Athlon

Ok, I've decided to finally abandon my sick and dying P2 233 to my folks ;], but I am a bit behind in the CPU market.

As of now I've pretty much narrowed down my options to an Athlon 1Ghz. However, my friend recently sent me a site where they had 2 choices.

An Athlon 1.1 Ghz with 200 FSB on-die Cache: L1 128K Cache, L2 256K

or

Athlon 1 Ghz FSB@266MHz Supporting DDR Memory

They both cost the same and I'm told that the 1.1 Ghz would be a bit faster than the 1Ghz. I am planning to overclock and I'm also looking for the performance increase I would get if I were to get the CPU supporting DDR RAM and 266 FSB

get the 1 gig and make sure you get at least the axia stepping

if you do you have a good chance of hitting 1.4 ghz with a good air cooler

First of all both Cpu's support DDR Ram. And the 266 fsb will make up for the 100mhz extra cpu speed on the 200 fsb cpu. Go with the 266 Fsb cpu. Having a faster FSB is always the best way to go. take alook @ the price for the 1.13 Athlon also!

The Axia stepping is the best for 1 gig chips.
Totally agreed. I've overclocked mine to 1.33G with its Default core voltage (1.75V).

 Good or Bad have no meaning at all, depends on what your point of view is.

Update
I just increased my TB 1G (AXIA core) to 1.4G and it's still at 1.75V. I ran 3D Mark 2001 and here its score.

don't listen to the crack head that told you the 1.1ghz is better than the 1.0ghz 266fsb.
